Leona Calderon (2013)

Leona Calderon is a 2013 Filipino drama comedy indie film starring Pilar Pilapil. This pinoy movie is directed by Jowee Morel. The rights to this film for it's release in the Philippines was acquired by Viva Films after it gained recognition in the 12th Gwangju International Film Festival in South Korea last Nov. 8 to 12.

Synopsis: After 35 years spent away from her family, Leona Calderon (Pilapil), a Filipina cleaning lady in England, is finally ready to go back home to the Philippines. But when she's diagnosed with uterine cancer, she has to make a tough decision: go back home and get treatment in the Philippines where she'll most likely lose all her savings, or delay her reunion with her family so she can get more affordable treatment in England.
